Ah finally! I had a harder time with this one's than yesterday's.
Difficulty score 40.
Got it with a green. Back to bed again.
First good sleep I've had in days and the cat gets her paw stuck in a glue trap (I hope there was a mouse in there she's now eaten) and ran around the house howling until I got it off her. So, NOW I'm awake... *grumble*
Which is to say: go
Done. Used greens and a guess.
also used greens and a guess. Just like yesterdays. Funny story about the cat, Andy. Hope you get some shuteye.
me too :)
done, with greens
done. used a couple of guesses and a "sneak peek" of greens a couple times... this one as a bit tough at 6:30 am. lol
5 points again! Done! Happy Friday!
Wow, I just surprised myself. I finished yesterday's puzzle this morning - with logic, not guessing! I "stared at the twos" like people were discussing yesterday, and later used the exact same trick on the sevens. But now I'm wondering if I had made a lucky error in there somewhere.
And I was using greens of course. This is *me* I'm talking about! ;-)
20 filled, using greens, stuck...
Done. One guess :-(
no greens or guesses
it is the easy one, not an expert. Dr God must have made a mistake
have a great day everybody
Forging ahead with complete reliance on the Laurence Littlewinkle (simplified) method.
Angie, I believe you have finally discovered a true sudoku genius in Laurence Littlewinkle.
To do it without a guess needs one x-wing and one xy-chain (according to scanraid!)
I am a true sudoku genius myself, you know
Scanraid? The Penn State Scanraid?
Dang. Lost my focus congratulating myself
Self-adulation is always risky:)
A form of self abuse
Returning to checkpoint as penance
No angie, I didn't know you were a true sudoku genius. I just thought you were either well connected in the world of sudoku or very erudite.
Well now you know
Darn! Did it again. Leave me alone!
I see, you're just like the farmer who was outstanding in his field.
that is a very old joke
dr who, we had a question yesterday after you left. me and some other person i forgot who it was ;)
we wondered about the difficulty ratings ... say you rated something difficulty 56, what does that mean exactly? what is the highest difficulty rating there is?
Old jokes and questions, I like.
I suppose the difficulty rating could go as high as 640 on a puzzle with a unique solution, but I doubt it ever would.
For more details on how the difficulty rating is actually calculated and see the link in my profile.
I prefer Feldbauer: the level of difficulty is in direct proportion to the number of distractions, times 3. That is to say, 27
what is today's rating? I scrolled down & didn't see it, but I do have a lot of distractions right now.
Today's difficulty score is 40. Posting this note causes the original to scroll off the bottom.
guess I didn't scroll down far enough then.
how does this compare to other experts?
You can also go to the link in my profile to find the list of daily scores. I try to remember to update that when I first post the score here, but sometimes I forget.
Again, check my web page. There is a statistical analysis at the bottom of the Iron Sudoku Scores page.
I thought i remembered you saying you were going to have a list, but I didn't rem. your link being in your profile. Thank you.
thanks for answering my question dr who :)
You're welcome hokie and btwrt. Sorry about pimping the web page, but probably better not to clutter the chatterbox with details that most would find boring.
nahh it makes sense, and you have a lot of info there
Done, nowhere near as hard as yesterdays!
so far, easier than yesterday's
mind you, that ain't saying much!
ah, another expert!
done, but i'm not happy about it
had to use scanraid to get a couple of cells thinned off :(
done... plenty of greenage used...
done ... with lots of greens - have a good day all !
done... guessed in the end... wish I had more time to really use my noggin
must have forgotten to finish 8/30/2007. so just finished, no green.
done. auto g+r. one bad guess. then two good guesses.
