What are these greens you speak of?

the ones i know about are simply when you choose a number, hold down the SHIFT key - this will insert a small green number in the square - if you want to look at possibilities without actually positing a number - and when you save, those green numbers are saved as well...

have you tried it cowers ?

in the auto g+r, red means the number appears only 1ce or 2ce in the block. Very useful.

This site needs an faq. Or at least a button which auto-pastes the answer to the daily question: "What are greens?"

Is it true that the red numbers in the matrix means that number cannot be in that cell? But if that number can be in another cell why does it not appear in green?

I think the red means that number must be in one of those cells

in the auto g+r script, red means a number can be in that 3x3 region once or twice.
