*sigh* awake too early and can't get back to sleep. Sudoku time!
Let us grovel...
stuck at 18 filled in
Time to pull out my copy of "The Sudoku Whisperer" and get some inspiration from the master, Alistaire Offenmacher.
Offenmacher still at it, is he?
Sadly, he's declined of late. His latest book, The Spongebob Sudoku for Kids Whisperer, is really kind of sad.
I'll wait for the movie then
Ridley Scott's supposed to direct it. I think they are trying to get Dennis Hopper for the role of Patrick.
Spongebob will find this one quite easy. I did
I am turning to the techniques of Otto Grunundrot
done.... that one was trcky
Done, needed greens to find the loner 5
Good idea to use green today.
Only as a last resort.
...which may come soon.
Difficulty score 28, but I think it was harder. No way I could have done this without green.
that at least makes me feel better about going green.
done, with greens
wow. i found that one to be very easy - no greens.
After a break, done, no greens. A pair opened it up.
done, no greens - have a great day all !
What are these greens you speak of?
the ones i know about are simply when you choose a number, hold down the SHIFT key - this will insert a small green number in the square - if you want to look at possibilities without actually positing a number - and when you save, those green numbers are saved as well...
have you tried it cowers ?
Just did, thanks. That's really nice.
done. auto g+r.
I put in the java script to create the possible matirix but what is the difference between the numbers in green vs the numbers in red?
Marc, as far as I know, red means it can't be in that spot, green means it is a possible? Someone correct me if I am wrong...
done no greens...
mayan warrior.. you are correct
it kin mean whatever you want it to mean
course if you're colorblind that would be bad
if you're altogether blind, that's even worse
Seems silly, to use red and green when that's the most common color blindness there is...
'Course, the reds seem sort of pointless to me
they are good for marking forcing chains.
Uh, Oh! Not sure what those are... I tend not to have a name for strategies? Hurshy, you must be a pro.
i dunno, i've just been here since the beginning and can't help having picked up some of the little names.
did you appreciate how timely your entrance was????
wow - finished, no greens! that's the first puzzle harder than an easy that i could finish without greens in a really really long time!
Gosh, Hurshy, no one caught your perspicacity and humor...
helen's just tired of my hk jokes :)
still there hursh? i bet i missed you again ... *sigh*
in the auto g+r, red means the number appears only 1ce or 2ce in the block. Very useful.
This site needs an faq. Or at least a button which auto-pastes the answer to the daily question: "What are greens?"
(It has an faq... but it needs that particular q in the list)
done, third attempt
Is it true that the red numbers in the matrix means that number cannot be in that cell? But if that number can be in another cell why does it not appear in green?
I think the red means that number must be in one of those cells
in the auto g+r script, red means a number can be in that 3x3 region once or twice.
