some tips ?

yul's gone, I guess. But here's a few: I always look first for each number individually. I notice where, say, a 1 is only on the right side in this block so I know it won't be in that column in the other two, and such. I usually get a few to many that way first.

Then I look at blocks, rows and columns to see if there are any places where a given number can ONLY be so I can fill that in

try that too

Then I look for pairs which will eliminate possibilities elsewhere... 12 and 12 in a row means 1 and 2 cannot be anywhere else in that row, etc.

After that, you get into the advanced techniques. Triplets, y wings, x wings, unique rectangles, etc.

those techniques are well documented and google will bring them up handily. Someone here has a site or has linked to a site but I don't have it handy at the moment

Complete discredited.

Grueman had 7 fingers and could not count to 9 in the first place and Fortnum was a drunk.

I'm doing the Sept 13 2006 Hard puzzle and using Grueman/Fortnum I get 12 9's in one block. I think you will see that that is impossible. And I don't see how having to trap underage girls in a bear trap helps at all.

It was a bear HUG. Sometimes Grueman can be difficult for the novice
