I just looked at five printouts of five or six puzzles form tshi site, and all of tehm are symmetrical, but I looked at some from a puzzle magzine and they're not. so i guess it must be the algorithm that generates these particular puzzles?

Okay thanks, I think the dailies in my paper are symmetrical as well, your algorithm hunch sounds spot on to me though

It's certainyl not a requirement for solveability - I can provide a bunch of counterexamples :)
