Dr G said he had generated enough puzzles for 5 years. So I assume the server does not generate the puzzles each day, but had them uploaded - which make sense as it is easier to program.

Generally, I find Hards easier than Mediums -- a Medium is more likely to need an indirect trick or short chain most of the Hard puzzles are merely a hidden pair or triple -- usually just one -- that I usually cant spot without sticking the greens in, then it solves like an easy.
