seriously puzzle 18 has me stumped

i've been doing it for 3 days now, lol. i have all the greens mapped out as logically as i can yet i still only have the 2 obvious squares filled in

i wish i could help ... i've done that one, but once it's all filled in i have no clue as to how to give hints

any idea what logical method you used?

i see no hidden pairs or anything, this things got me

well, it was so long ago ... what i usually do that works really fast is, i only put in greens where there are two possibilities in a section

that way, i catch the pairs really easily because there aren't a lot of other numbers mucking it up

then, if i've put in all the pair possibles in each 9 square section, and i'm stuck, i do all the threes and see what that gets me

does that make sense? i'm bad at explaining things

i go through each number - fill out all the 1's taking into account the surrounding rows etc, then 2's, and so on. so i generally spot the pairs as i'm going - it's easy to see which lines can't have x because x only exists on line blah in one of the segments, etc. but i just don't see anything useful here

i've gone through each row and column having filled in all the greens and theres no hidden pairs or tripples or quads or anything

hmmm. what numbers do you have filled in? i'll try to recreate it

i've the 4 on the bottom middle and the 3 on the middle left - the 2 most obvious lol. other than that they're all green

One hidden pair finished it off for me. Didn't seem like a hard.

TrickyRic am looking at yr screenshot and can't give you a proper sudoku push as I work randomly but could "hint you" a square if that would help
