Thanks for the clarification on the diet suggestions, Phil. I know that lots of vegans are very healthy but it is because they have done the research on how to get proteins. Kale just does not have any appeal for me.

Bugs, I'm not Phil, but here are a couple of more thoughts.

Easy to get plenty of protein from plants if you want to. Some ideas at https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/protein-\nfor-vegans-vegetarians But perhaps you are seeking more protein than you need, see https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25369930/

Pe\nrsonally, I probably eat kale once a week. Most days I eat some leafy greens, some cruciferous veggies, some grains, some beans and/or nuts, and have plenty of energy to exercise and do what I need to do.

And if you don't want to learn more, then don't. I consider reading about this stuff interesting and worth my time. I also find exploring new foods enjoyable, and it doesn't hurt that variety tends to be healthy. Last week my first-time-for-me new veggie was romanesco (which I hope to repeat in the future). I'll be on the lookout for more variety when I shop for groceries tomorrow.
