Harsh Angie, I think it's more the case that the ignorance is a product of listening to and believing a whole lot of lying by an incompetent, misogynistic, racist, childish, self interested bully. Unfortunately due to an ill-conceived and lax social media that allows hate so each and has for too long been an enabler through not marking the tweets fact check, they don't see the alternative and aren't open to listening to it.

There was a big stink in the labour party in Aus because of branch stacking members to gain power. Some were caught out being disrespectful too and were immediately sacked from cabinet positions and the party.

At the end of the day you have to have integrity in politics and frankly there is a massive lack of it in the US at the moment.

@Angie&Phil - please don't classify all of us US citizens the same. Please remember that Trump lost by 3 million popular votes in 2016. His hand-selected courts are ruling against him. He lies daily. He seeks to profit from his office. There has never been a more corrupt and inept president in our history. And his base is leaving in droves.
