Difficulty score 69. That seems too high. After filling in the green it all fell into place with just 1 simple coloring technique.

That is the 6th expert this month, 2 more than any other month. The average score for the puzzle this month is 32.78 so far, about 3 points higher than any other month.

With only 3 more puzzles this month, I think it is safe to say this is the most challenging month ever for IronSudoku.

I have my own site, but I am just learning web design. Eventually I hope to put the scoring program online so anyone can use it to evaluate and/or solve Sudoku puzzles.

16. Going green.

UTH - I see you had problems with my IronSudoku score page yesterday.

When I went to your IronSudoku page and clicked on the underlined word, it got an error message. But then the URL for your score page was saved in my browser. So when I tried to get back to your sight, I saw it there and went to it.

Yup, I was making modifications to the script that generates that page. You hit it just when I had totally screwed up.

I don't have a PHP interpreter installed on my PC, so I make modifications, go live and debug as quickly as possible.

What does PHP mean?

I forget what the acronym is, but it is a server side scripting tool to generate web pages.

You mean it automatically makes a web page from information it finds or calculates?

Basically, the scores are in an XML file. When someone goes to the page, my PHP script reads the XML file and generates the table, statistics and histogram.

What changes were you making yesterday?

I was placing some numbers on the axes of the histogram.

It looked like 101 was as high as it's ever been.

That's right.

If you were looking at the histogram before my changes, it would have been hard to tell what the high score was because I hadn't labelled the axes before yesterday.

Found what I think is called a remote pair. Or maybe it's coloring. Anyway, it looks productive.

Done. That was an enjoyable Expert. First time I've used the technique that broke it open.
