yes, I can understand that. I know someone in the same situation. She bought one of those secured pre-pay credit cards that you get at the grocery store and uses it for all her online shopping. You can get most things much cheaper on line so she finds it to be worth the trouble. Of course, nothing gets around the starving student part. : )

Finished! Not bad for 6 minutes... I've been practicing on my Pocket PC with Pocket Sudoku (http://pocketsudoku.sf.net) and my time has definitely increased as well as my ability to finish them. Plus, I can take it with me... :D

eventually, it will be... but the formula for COTC multiplies the average puzzle score by 100 before adding a point for every puzzle, so it will take a few months to overtake the people who are selective...

I have to ask myself if $15 for a pro account represents good value for money. Personally..... no. I don't think it does. I understand that good sites like this (and I do like it) require funding. However I'm not convinced that one off payments are the answer. I also know that my attention span is far too short for me to get value from paying the Pro fee. I'm not sure what the answer is - I'm sure there are many alternatives. How about Google based advertising based revenues?

the main thing thats tough about them is that you dont know what all of the available animals are...with the numbers, you know its 1-9, but its gonna take time to memorize all the animals

All puzzles are availabe to all Pro users. I don't really have beta testers, and if i did, they would have no advantages.

because the Cream formula multiplies the average score by 100, then adds a point for ech puzzle...

so, yeah, that makes no sense, you're better off skipping some puzzles then, i can see why you want to change it

"Cream" is based on averages. That is the problem. If someone only did expert puzzles, they would have a much higher Cream score that someone who did all the puzzles.

Hence the need to redo the Rankings page. ;)

so, in the early days, a high average score is worth more than the number of puzzles you've done...

the trick is you don't put in all the banana at first
