The Hillbullies lost at the ballot box so now they have taken to the street to protest the result of the election! That's disgraceful behavior, trying to undo the results of the election.

Couldnt agree more drwho, bit like the brexit remoaners. The public decides and that's the end of it. Accept the democratic rights of the individual voters. If they want to change the system to be fairer - i.e. 1 person, 1 vote then get a campaign together.

I don't give a good goddamn about protests. Consider that there were militias arming to start violence in the case of the election going the other way--there was going to be violence in America this week no matter what the outcome of this election.

SamanthaJoy

I *am* concerned by the number of leftists who are writing off everyone who voted for Trump as racist, sexist, hateful, etc. Y'all are doing "your side" no favors by insulting everyone who disagrees with you.
4:48 am
angieplumptit

Ok, they're not racist or sexist. But they're ok with a leader who's racist and sexist?
4:49 am
SamanthaJoy

Some are racist. Some are sexist. And many of them think that bringing jobs back to America is more important to them than the fact that Trump was endorsed by the KKK
4:49 am
SamanthaJoy

There were a lot more "Trump because f**k you that's why" votes than, I think, most people are willing to come to terms with.
4:51 am
angieplumptit

It seems to me they'll pay a terrible price for their protest vote.
4:51 am
SamanthaJoy

I agree. But insulting them isn't the way to persuade them to not do it again.
4:53 am
angieplumptit

It's not the "doing it again" that concerns me; it's that it has been done.
4:54 am
SamanthaJoy

Too late now. Rioting and insulting won't change that, and will arguably make things worse.

Nothing wrong with protesting in the streets. That's why the 1st amendment is so great. I rather enjoy people making fools of themselves, it helps the rest of the world see which side actually has more idiots.

".... trying to undo the results of the election...." The hilarious irony here is in the swing states which were the race was to be contested and which were ultimately the deciding swings of the election, the D's had more reg voters who Billarycrats NOT TURN OUT, and the TRiUMPhants had fewer reg'd and turned out in mass...so now AFTER THE FACT, AFTER THE ELECTION, AFTER WHEN ACTION MATTERED...the Billarycrats are going to march?? Buuuuhahahahah...they need to be protesting themselves!!! Tooooo funny!!

I wonder whether Hillary eventually decided she did not want the job anyway. As the campaign came to an end her demeanor seemed to change from combative to resigned. The difference was easy to see on election day when she was on her way to vote. The day before, she had canceled her celebration fireworks. Those were two not-so-subtle hints that may have influenced the election outcome without her ever realizing their significance.

SJ: "...militias arming to start violence..." REALLY???!

Where was all the violence when Obama got elected, or when he was reelected? How many marches were there protesting Obama's election?
1:51 pm
drwho

But SJ is right about the reason for the outcome. People are not happy about the direction of this country, and they are not just blaming Democrats or Republicans, but the Washington insiders. That's why Trump was so brilliant to paint himself as an outsider. Frankly, I don't think he is as much of an outsider as he would have us believe, but time will tell.

Angie: Donald Trump is arguably a sexist pig, but Hillary is an enabler for a sexual predator. And that is not just rumor and innuendo, Paula Jones won her lawsuit because she produce physical evidence (I hope I don't need to explain that in any more detail). Hillary was out leading the charge in the nuts and sluts defense. She can't claim the moral high ground on that issue.
2:12 pm

Frankly, Trump's treatment of women is probably no worse than John F Kennedy's and a good deal better than Bill Clinton's, 2 Presidents the country survived, maybe even thrived under.

Unlike the Broaddrick case, the Jones case also has some physical evidence involved. Kind of. Jones gave an account of what the president's penis looked like that was then thoroughly discredited, which is perhaps the strongest reason to think her whole accusation is false. Daniel Traylor, the first lawyer who Jones hired for the case, told Mayer that Jones never told him that Clinton's penis had specific "distinguishing characteristics," a notorious detail in her allegation. Jones's later lawyers suggested that Traylor just hadn't asked the right questions to get his client to reveal that detail — but there's plenty of reason to think it was an after-the-fact embellishment.

tuco, why do you consider President Obama's place of birth a racist or race baiting issue? As I recall, the identities and races of his parents were never disputed.

The important question is whether Obama was born in the U.S. or in Africa. Sure, he has produced a Hawaiian birth certificate. But he also had his publishing agency Acton & Dystel describe him as born in Kenya, as far back as 1991 and as recently as March 2007. A bad mistake on Obama's part, and nothing racist about it.
