Phil, I have debated whether or not I should respond to your emails. I would support the parents, no matter which decision they make. It takes just as much love to let go as it does to continue the fight. A person needs to weigh everything to make the best decision for the family. The government should stay out of social, moral, and religious issues and do what it was designed to do....I have been in the position of making a life and death decision for my daughter. The doctors were divided 50/50 on whether to remove part of her lung as well as whether or not we would want her put on life support. In both cases, we said no. I loved her too much to put her through that trauma and believe there are things that can be worse than death. She has a faith in God even though she only lived to age 6. Sorry this was so long, but I felt compelled to share what was in my heart.
