i've been trying to do it without green, and it's not going so well. either i'm not seeing some things, or i may just have to resort to green.

Difficulty score 34. Can be done without green, but I had to stare at it for a while.

There is one "only one possibility" cell. After that you can do quite a lot of cross hatching before you need greens.

one last question--do you have to make Firefox your default brouser??

jawilke - good gravy! that's pretty sweet but i was trying carefully to keep behind the line where one could say it was cheating (of course i failed miserably, since a simple little green autofill will explode some heads around here :-). I'll give you this, though: your script is a big time saver. :-)
