Well, I finally gave up and guessed on yesterday's Expert. One lucky guess.
simple ng/ng end game
No problem with today's expert but have yet to do yesterday's!!!!!!!!!
Done. NG. EZPZ.
Easy even for me, with one guess.
Did it, no green, no guess. I'll give out a hint later in the day. Other than that trick, it was real easy.
wow - feeling like a genius! :)
finally finished yesterday's.............
Okay. Ready for a hint? Don't read this if you're still trying to do it on your own. This trick was new to me, but it could be general purpose. So I'll give it a name. It's possibly some kind of X-Wing, XY-Wing or XYZ-Wing. But I'll understand it better if I call it a 2 x 3 block pincer. It's different from other block pincers I have seen because it's a double block pincer -- it blocks two numbers. One large pair AB, AB ("large" meaning the two cells are in separate blocks) intersects a large threesome, ABC, AB, ABC. Therefore a tip of the threesome is somewhat linked to the far tip of the pair. If that tip is either A or B, then so is the far tip of the pair. And between the two of them, they act like a pincer, coming together from two sides to block all either A's and B's in a third block. Therefore that tip of the threesome cannot be A or B. It needs to be C.
