The puzzles for almost the entire last 12 months are available to be played if you pay.

For instance, I'm working on August 12 right now.

i'm disoriented here... i play sudoku on a handheld device and can solve it in less than 5 minutes... this is different. can u set multiple checkpoints?

No. Just one checkpoint at a time per puzzle. It would be nice to have multiple.

They aren't really needed except for the "hard" and "expert" puzzles.

If you haven't figured it out yet, holding down the "shift" or "alt" key allows you to enter green or red numbers to make notes showing what numbers are possible or not in a given cell.

You make your own notes. There is a javascript available that will fill in all of the greens for you, but I think that takes away from the fun.
