Somewhere I read about shapes, fish, boat, etc, of corner intersections. For example (2,7) (2,7) (2,7) (2,7) intersecting at four corners... and variations on that of different shapes.

wow, Iwent back and read the "chatterbox" about that puzzle and it caused a lot of discussion. I have no idea if i solved it without guessing or not. I guess I will just have to do it again to find out :)

the march 28th one is the hardest one we've had, IMHO. I remember it was the first one where I had to guess.

and it was particuarly irksome for those of us who found the site shortly before it opened, because there were no archives and the only way to get the points was to finish it in the first 24 hours!

i mean, those of us who were on the site early on.

the stress of it made me realize that i spent too much time playing computer games and that i was more competitive than I wanted to believe :)

It was especially frustrating when we had to miss a day and couldn't make it up!

yup, back in the day. i have never seen pocketmole in the chat logs before, but i will always remember that he/she was the only one with a "perfect" score before the archives feature opened up.

i became a little obsessed. i'm much better now.

I don't have that much free time! I had to give up Babble...sigh. This I can usually find time for, altho I'm working to catch up from the past week.

Do you remember Tree Rollins from Clemson? 7' 2" and went to the pros. When he passed us on the sidewalks it was easy to see where the name came from.

ah...thought Mayan. I was in Belize, but didn't see them. Chichen Itza and Tulum, though.

We went for a dive trip and took a day to tour several sites. Amazing what they did so many years ago.

Great place to dive, I heard. I snorkeled there 2 years ago. I haven't done any diving. Maybe someday!

I "retired" when I was 35 and became my own boss in rental realestate. Now I work longer hours and rarely get paid. Someday the "sweat equity" should pay off if I ever sell any of the property.

there are benefits to a regular paycheck...31 years of teaching here--still going strong!

Good for you. I taught some math for a while to grad students after I got my engineering degree. I found it to rewarding and frustrating at the same time. The ones that really wanted to learn what you were teaching were wonderful. The rest, oh well......

I've been teaching elementary art forever, just started teaching at the college level one night a week. They all WANT to be there, which is great!

I am a computer science undergrad at a top 5 school. Here's hoping the job market stays strong!

I agree with you about some of their policies. I just can't stand the tax, tax, tax of the dems. However, the reps haven't been much better since it takes so much pork to get elected or re-elected.

Tulum is beautiful. It sits on a cliff right over the water. Some beautiful carving and murals. It's also quite compact so you can explore it more easily than Chichen Itza. I have some great photos!

I just looked it up on-line and it is not one of the site I toured.

I have seen lots.... took out every book in the library about it, looking forward to it.... but the place seems kind of rustic --I think I'll like that, but it's been ages since I had to share a room with little lzards and crabs (years ago in the Out Islands) and I'm not sure how it will be.. I'm getting old, spoiled and crochety.

The cruise ships go to Cozumel--huge stop in the Caribbean. Tours from them head over to Tulum.

It's good to do without sometimes so we can appreciate what we have. It has always amazed me how happy the locals seem to be and they have almost nothing.

Bummer. The duty free shops were always a highlight of our trips.

I had some great samples in St. Thomas, though. All we can bring back is memories now. Those are pretty good, though, and healthier!

St. Thomas was not one of my favorites: too crowded. We had to pass through there to get to Caneel Bay. Now that is pure luxury!!!

Whew! I'm finally caught up. Ok, back to work. Haven't been to Caneel Bay and that was our first trip to St. Thomas. Crowded, yes. Warmer than Chicago, though! Good luck and good night!
