12:03 am

12:03 am
jawilke

12:03 am
skizzybiz

12:04 am
jawilke

12:04 am
skizzybiz

12:04 am
jawilke

12:04 am
skizzybiz

i'm ... flattered?
12:05 am
jawilke

12:05 am
skizzybiz

don't have the time anymore, i'm afraid
12:06 am
jawilke

yeah, sudoku can do that
12:07 am
andy99

is anyone having difficulty with the nines on here?
12:08 am
bangping

No, got all of 'em pretty quickly
12:08 am
andy99

I didn't think so
12:08 am
Dismas

nines were the first one i had all of
12:08 am
TeaNCrackers

me, too
12:10 am
austinuu

I have found that threatening nines with catchphrases from the movie "Pulp Fiction" seems to keep them in line, so no, no trouble at all.
12:13 am
andy99

then the 1s
12:14 am
Dismas

once i got medeival on em, they pretty much just threw themselves onto the screen for me
12:14 am
austinuu

Now, one is the loneliest number of all
12:14 am
jrrogers27

Wow! that was easy
12:14 am
austinuu

so rather than intimidation tactics, I try to be friendly
12:14 am
smooth_pappa

done!
12:14 am
austinuu

praise them
12:14 am
austinuu

give them compliments
12:14 am
Dismas

12:14 am
TeaNCrackers

done
12:15 am
austinuu

and eventually they come out of their shell
12:15 am
TeaNCrackers

hey, you mean I finished just as fast as whizzer?!
12:15 am
TeaNCrackers

wahoo!
12:15 am
TeaNCrackers

I beat you husband!
12:15 am
Dismas

12:15 am
TeaNCrackers

you're too busy chatting!
12:16 am
smooth_pappa

12:16 am

Difficulty score 23. It seemed harder than a 23 to me.
1:05 am
mab

why, drwho, I presume?
1:08 am
drwho

Just a fan of the show.
1:09 am
mab

I am a former Minnesotan myself.
1:10 am
drwho

Many are cold, but few are frozen.
1:10 am
mab

My best friends Jeanie, Reg, and Nancy still live there.
1:11 am
drwho

I'm in the Twin Cities area.
1:11 am
mab

I grew up in Mpls.
1:12 am
drwho

I arrive here after graduating from college. Still waiting to grow up.
1:13 am
mab

Lots of good things about the place -- lots of small theater, etc.
1:13 am
mab

Oh yes, I as well, and I'm nearly your age.
1:14 am
mab

and the lakes. many many lakes.
1:15 am
mab

we sometimes went out late at night to Lake of the Isles and skated in the dark
1:16 am
mab

and the wheat, the wheat
1:16 am
drwho

Rollerblading around the lake, or ice skating on it?
1:16 am
mab

winter. ice.
1:17 am
drwho

Cool.
1:17 am
mab

It was. It actually was quite bright with the moon and the snow
1:17 am
mab

It was. It actually was quite bright with the moon and the snow
1:18 am
mab

where do you like to skate best?
1:18 am
drwho

I usually go to the John Rose arena in Roseville. Sometimes to the Schwann Super Rink in Blaine.
1:21 am
mab

hmm. funny, but I've forgotten where those towns are, and I've certainly never known those rinks. been gone a long time.
1:22 am
mab

can't go back. killed a man.
1:22 am
drwho

Both are northern suburbs. The John Rose Oval is the largest refrigerated sheet of ice in the US and the Schwann Super Rink is the largest indoor facility in the country, or so they claim :-).
1:23 am
mab

Minnesota must have the largest everything. Reflects badly on the state from a freudian stand point
1:24 am
drwho

I hope he deserved it.
1:24 am
mab

of course; he needed killing
1:25 am
mab

or no, wait... I just winged a guy.
1:25 am
mab

he's almost perfectly fine now
1:25 am
drwho

Sort of like all the times Jack Bauer has been killed on 24?
1:26 am
mab

I don't watch tv.
1:27 am
drwho

Well you have to be an addict to really follow 24. I just bought the DVDs for the 1st season so I wouldn't have to be a slave to the TV.
1:28 am
mab

one hears it is a well done show. i'd probably like it.
1:29 am
drwho

It is a great action show, with lots of suspense.
1:29 am
drwho

And Jack Bauer always gets his man.
1:30 am
mab

i will watch tv again some day. I miss David Letterman.
1:30 am
drwho

I've only seen the 1st season all the way through. Maybe I'll buy the DVDs for the 2nd sometime.
1:31 am
drwho

I miss Letterman like a tooth ache.
1:31 am
mab

are you a Leno man?
1:31 am
drwho

Nope.
1:32 am
mab

Conan?
1:32 am
drwho

No way.
1:32 am
mab

Dave slays me.
1:33 am
drwho

Well someone must like him, or he wouldn't be on.
1:33 am
mab

The person I miss most of all is Dick Cavett.
1:34 am
drwho

Did you like his Nixon interviews?
1:35 am
mab

I don't remember them, but read or heard something about them recently.
1:36 am
drwho

I think he got something of an exclusive with Nixon. I didn't watch, but it might have been the most significant journalism that Cavett did.
1:38 am
mab

Cavett was a quite good interviewer. I think Nixon opened up to him, or froze, I forget which.
1:39 am
mab

and Cavett was so bright and witty.
1:39 am
drwho

He opened up. I believe it was a series of shows.
1:39 am
mab

still is.
1:41 am
mab

Oh. That makes sense, else why would I have heard of it recently. They must be out on DVD recently
1:42 am
drwho

Opened up in the sense of saying alot. Whether he told all he knew or even told the truth is another matter.
1:43 am
mab

sounds fascinating. I do believe that toward the end of his time in the white house, he was quite close to madness.
1:44 am
mab

There's something Shakespearean about the Nixon saga.
1:45 am
drwho

He was perhaps a bit paranoid, but that doesn't mean they weren't out to get him.
1:47 am
mab

mm. so they say.
1:49 am
mab

t'is late. good night drwho.
3:17 am
h

looks like the good-dr is gone. what was todays score... oh yeah - and go.
3:38 am

Not to bad, maybe I can slip it in tonight. I was in here while my cake bakes.
9:04 am
bunnyvicious

drwho, I'm on dial up, it's like riding a bike while every one else is driving cars. We live out in the boondocks, no high speed available.
9:07 am
drwho

Too bad. Its a video of a rabbit taking on a rattlesnake.
9:08 am
bunnyvicious

Sorry, I tried, it won't stream. One of the disadvantages of being a hick.
9:09 am
hurshy

but hicks have more fun
9:09 am

Oh yeah, our idea of a good time is drinking beer in a can in the back yard while we throw rocks at birds and yell "YEEE HAW!".

we need to start up some screenshot cheating stuff, I'm getting my ass kicked
2:49 pm
Krys10

hyde do you know about the green sctipt? to autofill green numbers?
2:50 pm
patgas

I'd like to know about this so-called green script
2:50 pm
Krys10

click on my cat's photo - more info in my profile
2:50 pm
patgas

I was thinking of writing my own
2:51 pm
patgas

awesome -- thanks!
2:51 pm
Krys10

np. someone wrote it in the first few weeks this site started last year
2:54 pm
Zugzug7

pasting the script didn't do anything. Java problems?
2:55 pm
Krys10

paste the script and hit return
2:55 pm
patgas

i just made a bookmarklet out of it and it works like a charm
2:55 pm
Zugzug7

in the Address window? I did that.
2:55 pm
Krys10

hmm.. dunno what to suggest - not facile in programming myself...
2:57 pm
Zugzug7

Does it matter if its IE7 or Firefox?
3:00 pm
Zugzug7

Ah! That's the trick. It works great in Firefox but not at all in IE.
3:01 pm
Zugzug7

Dang. I wish I had this three months ago. Perfect!!!
3:05 pm

3:06 pm

hmm, that autofill link doesn't work too well in IE
3:07 pm
patgas

i just dissected that script, i don't think there's anything in it that specifically doesn't work in IE
3:08 pm
patgas

maybe the whole thing is just too long for IE to handle?
3:09 pm
patgas

or it could be some wacky new security thing in IE7, haven't used it myself
3:10 pm
Zugzug7

Not sure. But Firefox worked like a charm. Finished this one in less than five minutes.
3:11 pm
spreadeagle

I just used it on an archived puzzle and it worked fine in IE. THANKS!!!
3:13 pm
Zugzug7

It must be me then. I'll try it again tomorrow. BTW - Anyone know what's up with the Rankings? I've done 18 puzzles in a row and it still shows me 2 shy of the top on the Who's Hot list.
3:16 pm
jrrogers27

I've got IE 7, the script thing worked just fine for me. I have one puzzle left in the archives, you guy's could have said something a little sooner about it. ;)
3:17 pm
spreadeagle

Zug, it worked for me immediately after starting the puzzle. As for the hot list, I've noticed the same thing. It must have something to do with the fact that rankings are not calculated at exactly midnight.
3:21 pm
helenkeller

done
3:27 pm
spreadeagle

I used it on an "easy" and I won't do that again. It's not that I'm a purist or anything; it's because I wound up having to delete way more greens than I would normally need to. Also, I felt like I was just a non-thinking robot playing the game. It might be nice on some of the "hard" or "expert" puzzles, tho.
3:31 pm
