okay, well then yes it was helpful. I have completed the top-right and center-right blocks, and narrowed it down to two choices for the top center and bottom right

rows and cols are 1 thru 9 in standard top-bottom left-right matrix format.

Got it! I was just about to give up when all of a sudden I hit a string of completions. With just 2 days on the site, I'm not sure I want to see a difficult puzzle - mediums are quite a challenge.

spreadeagle - still haven't completed 5/4/06 puzzle. Think I'll turn it over to my son. Guessing seems to be the only way to complete it, but I keep guessing wrong!!

well, i felt that this one was pretty easy, but then, i followed my dad's advice (which, unless your dad is a real screw-up, tends to be a good thing to do)

This one's a slow starter: basic scans only turned up a 3, two 7s and an 8.

but after only about 1/2 the greens, it all falls into place

adquilt - I'm glad I wasn't the only one that had to guess. Had to guess again for 5/5, and now 5/10 has me stuck. I really try hard to avoid guessing, but the advance strategies I've seen at sites like scanraid.com don't make much sense to me. Yet. I'm going to go back and read it again.
