found the 1 square i had not seen cross-hatch-wise, and it is all starting to break apart now... yeah.

neat - ive eliminated one possibility by having a triplet in play - i have no idea what the maneuver would be called, but it is cool...

done - but that was hard work - no restarts, but lots and lots of greens - up until the very end even...

Finished fine as frog's hair. No greens or reds.

I got bogged down with about 18 left and eventually broke it open by doing a missing digit scan.

I remember our biology teacher with a silly grin on his face as he pithed the frogs for us.

pithed? is that the pinning-process? yeah - ours was a gal - and i think she just liked to see us squirm. we each did our own (in pairs of students). i got a gal who was squeemish... ;)

Yup. I think our biology teacher did it for us to prevent excessive cruelty to the frogs.

our frogs were pre-pickled - i remember one or two of them flying across the room before she had a chance to stop the mayhem... there were some rowdies in our class. poor mrs. garvin - egads - i remember her name... :)

No wait, we had live frogs. Squeemish people look away. Pithing was taking a live frog, sticking a needle into the base of its brain to sever the spinal cord. This killed them but the heart was still beating when we opened them up.

i guess the pickling of our frogs eliminated any hair - or it was not on the agenda - cuz i dont remember it. and your class got way more fun stuff... :)

The hair was so fine it didn't even show up under the microscope :-).

OK let's see how my per-pass stuff works on a Medium

First pass by crosshatch: one 1, one 3, three 5s giving the left middle square, all 6s, one 8

Second pass: realized that C3 is done, got the rest of the 5s - pretty sparse, but expected on a medium

Easy medium, cross hatching was all I needed. No greens.

Third pass for low-hanging fruit (regions with three or fewer open cells): two 3s, a 2.

Fourth pass: While filling in greens - not much, managed to clear out some redundant 7s that I'd have caught in the next pass

Fifth pass RCS analysis of greens: found hidden pair in TM square, which got me... a dead end. I messed something up which is probably why this was going so poorly. I'll try again later
