man what a trip... doing the easy ones actually seems to hurt ratings

are ratings really that important?

i think thats why there are 2 different sets of ratings. the "average" one will go down by completing the easier puzzles. but the "overall" one goes up with each puzzle completed, since it is cumulative.
of course, this is just how it is *supposed* to work -- i dont check my rankings, so i dont know if it is working correctly...

on guessing: different sudoku creators have different philosophies - on websudoku.com you can always see the next move. here, there can be some "guessing" although there are some complex logical things that i haven't quite figured out that make it not so much guessing, i guess :) but that only happens on expert level.

Once you get the 7th col, that will give you a number in the bottom right area that will give you the 2nd col.
