Zemoxian: I wrote a computer program that solves and rates the difficulty of Sudoku puzzles. The scores range from 1 to no upper limit. So far about the easiest seen anywhere is a 6 and the hardest was a 78.

How are the scores weighted? Is it based on specific techniques?

Yes, cross hatching is 1 or 2 points, missing digits scans 3 points, inference or analysis 5 points and guesses 10 points. The number of passes through the data and the most advanced technique neeeded each pass determine the score.
