I think the 2 horizontal lines between the 3 sets of 9's should be more defined (thicker) as the 2 verticals. Do I make myself understood?

i'm using firefox, and the dividing lines look fine for me

franebrown: click the button below the chatbox. download it and use instead of Internet Explorer. you may need to adapt to it for a few days, but after you will, you won't be ever coming back to IE :)

IE will still be installed if you must use it, but you should not be using IE as your default browser.

franebrown: just download it from the website the Firefox button points to. start using it. you will not need to come back to IE never again

franebrown: you may need to install plugins for the pages to display correctly, for example the Flash plugin. but firefox will display you all necessary information, you won't get lost.

I don't know how the puzzles are generated on this site, but most likely it is done by computer program, and computer programs are very good at detecting ambiguous puzzles.

indeed, I've tried making them, it's incredibly hard to have one that is not ambiguous.

why, why am i finding this so hard?

Strategies for generating Sudoku puzzles usually start with a completed puzzle, very easy to generate. Then you subtract everything but the clues, making sure that the clues don't lead to multiple solutions.

I think that someone has discovered that if the clues have rotational symetry then you get unique solutions. At least all computer generated puzzles have symetric clues.

Or maybe the clues are added in one or 2 at a time (with a particular solution in mind) until a unique solution is achieved.

if you get discouraged, just do the easy ones first. Altho some "easies" are not too easy.

I'm trying a green 8 in 11/6.

I noticed that. Some "easies" are mislabeled!! But, I did an "expert" in two minutes. I think they mix up they labels on this site

that happens occasionally. It's the luck of the draw, but with some exceptions, the easys are easier than the hards.

I gave up on 11/02

i'm giving 10/01 a shot

clear 11/2 and try another day. Let's see if I got 10/1.
