7:57 pm
Playwoman

Well, yes, and about 3000,000 other people.
7:58 pm
eyeman

lol. lots of icelanders out there
8:04 pm
Playwoman

Aw,gee. I'm going to Iceland in a couple of weeks,so it would be fun to chat with an Icelander before I leave.
8:05 pm
eyeman

On business or pleasure, playwoman? I wish you luck!
8:07 pm
Playwoman

Both. i am going as a guest with an official delegation from the state of California. There is going to be an exchange of ideas, primarily regarding environmental issues.
8:08 pm
eyeman

sounds wonderful. Global warming among them?
8:10 pm
Playwoman

YES. Also, Iceland so far seems to be doing a really good job with using natural resources wisely, so we might have something to learn there, although their society is uncomplex relative to ours.
8:12 pm
eyeman

A nice surprise to learn theyre doing a good job - mostly by not using pollutants? How does one measure a really good job?
8:14 pm
eyeman

(solving the 8/1 archive puzzle!)
8:15 pm
Playwoman

Good question. I'm no expert, but I've been reading a lot of materials. They use geothermal energy to provide the power needs of more than 80% of the population. THey are crrently building a couple of dams to fill the gap. The latter is causing a stir with environmentalists there. It will be interesting to find out more about it.
8:15 pm
Playwoman

Just finished 8/17
8:16 pm
Playwoman

Also, Iceland boasrs a literacy rate of more than 99%.
8:16 pm
Playwoman

I mean boasts, of course
8:16 pm
eyeman

brava. Looking now at 8/2 (expert) Would love to get to 170 points sooner rather than later, but work always interferes
8:17 pm
eyeman

I wonder how much geothermal energy the US produces for its people...
8:18 pm
Playwoman

Oo. Haven''t looked at my points. Probably dismal since I've missed a lot of days when I've been travelling. I think I'll look at 8/2
8:18 pm
Playwoman

No clue.
8:19 pm
Stephanie

Hi!
8:19 pm
Playwoman

Hi, Stephanie!
8:19 pm
Playwoman

8:20 pm
eyeman

good question, tho. maybe your colleagues have an answer. My guess is that it's very little, insignificant amount.
8:21 pm
Playwoman

I will see what I can find out. If not now, then by the time I return from Iceland.
8:22 pm
eyeman

ok let me know.
8:22 pm
Playwoman

Will do
8:23 pm

8:26 pm
Playwoman

Do you have a view of the cape?
8:27 pm
eyeman

from my window? Not much, but it's just a short drive to the coastal sand dunes
8:28 pm
Playwoman

I'd love to be there in the fall. What's the season for fresh lobster?
8:30 pm
eyeman

right now! I recommend the twin lobster special at Salty's in West Yarmouth. $19.95 plus salad and rice, and melted butter. Slurp. They're open till mid-October.
8:31 pm
Playwoman

I'm going to make a note of that. Sounds fabuous.
8:32 pm
eyeman

I'll save some fresh lobsters for you.
8:32 pm
Playwoman

Thanks! I'lll bring the wine!
8:33 pm
