Does anyone know how many potential puzzles there are? I know that the number of solutions is something less than 9!^9, but the number of puzzles would be greater than the number of solutions. Since two puzzles could have different sets of provided numbers but have the same solution. Any ideas on calculating this? Or any websites that you know of that deal with this? Thanks- Dale
Wow, interesting question. The easy way to standardize the numbering would be to require, say, the upper left hand block to be numbered 1-9 consecutively. That would eliminate duplicate solutions. After that, you've got me. I've got to go pick up my kid from school.
finished ... no guesses
