Not bad at all. Fill in rows 4, 5, and 6 in a jiffy, and the rest in a slow jiffy. Bye, bye 2009... a quick decade! Thanks for the fun.

At the risk of starting an argument, I am expecting 1 more year in this decade. There was no year 0.

drwho, I don't have a problem with a 9 year decade to start things off - there was no Oct. 5 through Oct. 14 in 1582, so that decade was a bit shorter than the usual too. The thrill of an odometer roll happening today trumps the thrill of keeping a consistent definition for "decade" for a period of time over two thousand years ago. Just my opinion, of course!

K, you must live in a "Catholic" country which adopted the Gregorian calendar as soon as Pope Gregory issued his Inter gravissimus. We in the English world are missing September 3 - 13 of 1752.

I'm also in favour of decades and centuries starting in the same year, the one with the 1 at the end, otoh I'd say the 2000's / 00's should end tonight and the 10's / 2010's start tomorrow

Since time for me began when I was born, I am in favor of starting the decade in years ending in 3.

What is the argument about when decades start and end...you are not born at 1 year old....by the time you reach your 10'th birthday, you have been here for 10 years that is 1 decade (note not your 11the birthday) your 11the year is the year in which you are 10 years old - ie the first year of your new (second decade)decade. Our numbering system starts and 0 not 1. So the new decade starts at the "0" year!!!

lokheed

When you are born is irrelevant. Our calendar does not contain a year 0 as a starting point. If you count backwards you eventually get to year 1 A.D., and the year preceding that is year 1 B.C.. Although the decimal numbering system starts with a 0, neither the Julian nor Gregorian calendar system upon which we rely starts with 0. Sorry.
