Easy Peasy. Good clicks everywhere you look.
12:28 am
UnikeTheHunter

DrWho will probably rate it about a 12.
12:29 am
drwho

Hmm... I rate it a 24!
12:29 am
UnikeTheHunter

Really?
12:30 am
drwho

Try it yourself (see my web page for the script).
12:31 am
UnikeTheHunter

Give me the URL. Is it something I plug into the URL line?
12:32 am
drwho

The url is in my profile (look for bookmarks) and yes you plug it into your URL line (or make a bookmark of it).
12:32 am
UnikeTheHunter

I got it.
12:34 am
drwho

I agree it is fairly easy, so far.
12:38 am
UnikeTheHunter

How do you copy the numbers into your solver program?
12:41 am
drwho

No green. And yes, a difficulty score of 24.
12:42 am
UnikeTheHunter

Is there a way to open your program as a separate window so I can enter the numbers?
12:42 am
drwho

I copy the numbers from the javascript object that dr_god uses to run this page.
12:42 am
UnikeTheHunter

Where do you get that?
12:43 am
drwho

Yes, there is a link on my page to an online version of my solver (look for Online Solver).
12:44 am
drwho

Where do I get the javascript object? Its loaded into your browser when you load this page. I simply read the javascript source for this page to figure out what was going on.
12:45 am
UnikeTheHunter

Well, I couldn't get a separate window, but I can look at them alternately and enter four or five at once.
12:46 am
drwho

For a separate window, if you use IE, hold down control and click on the link to the online solver. That may work in Firefox too.
12:47 am
UnikeTheHunter

I don't think it does. Just two tabs.
12:49 am
drwho

Try shift-click.
12:50 am
drwho

I was wrong, ctl-click opens another tab in IE too. But shift-click should do it for both IE and Firefox.
12:57 am
drwho

UTH, I think maybe you are doing things the hard way. No need to copy the numbers if all you want is the difficulty score. Look the the "Iron Sudoku bookmark" link on my page. That will give you a short script that you can cut and paste into the URL line or make a bookmark to get the difficulty score for any Iron Sudoku puzzle you have open.
12:57 am
drwho

Look FOR the "Iron Sudoku bookmark" link...
12:57 am
UnikeTheHunter

Ok, I'll look again.
1:04 am
UnikeTheHunter

Okay. I finally got it.
1:05 am
UnikeTheHunter

Now, how do I save that javascript into my bookmarks?
1:07 am
drwho

If you are using Firefox, I don't know. You have to find a way to edit a bookmark in order to do it.
1:08 am
UnikeTheHunter

Oh well. I very seldom will ever need to find your difficulty level.
1:10 am
UnikeTheHunter

Well, thanks. I'll sign off now.
1:11 am
drwho

You can left-click and drag a link to your bookmark toolbar in Firefox. I'm not exactly sure how that works, but if you figure it out let me know.
